The Centre remains committed to furthering the knowledge of medicine's past in order to offer analyses of the complexities and ambiguities, as well as the hard-won knowledge, surrounding health, diseases, and their treatment.
4	Centre for the History of Medicine and Disease, Durham University Established in April 2001, the Centre for the History of Medicine and Disease (CHMD) is a University-approved Research Centre that provides a focus for research and postgraduate education in the history of medicine, health, disease, and medical ethics. It unites staff and postgraduates from the Department of Philosophy and the School of Medicine and Health and has links to several other departments with interests in history of medicine, including Archaeology, Geography, History, and Modern European Languages.

9	Médicament comme Objet Social L'équipe MÉOS (Médicament comme Objet Social) est un regroupement interdisciplinaire affilié à l'Université de Montréal et composé de chercheurs formés en sciences humaines et sociales (sociologie, histoire, anthropologie, criminologie, psychologie). Sous la direction de Johanne Collin, l'équipe est financée par le Fonds de recherche en santé du Québec (FRSQ). Elle doit son dynamisme à l’interdisciplinarité qui la caractérise, ainsi qu’à la réflexion qu’elle poursuit sur la santé et la société à partir d’un objet commun: le médicament. Elle constitue un milieu stimulant pour les étudiants intéressés à effectuer leurs recherches de maîtrise, doctorat ou postdoctorat en sciences sociales de la santé.
10	Nursing History Research Unit The AMS Nursing History Research Unit opened in June 2005 with the support of Associated Medical Services and the University of Ottawa. The Unit is the first funded research unit in Canada dedicated to the history of nursing and joins international nursing history research units situated in Australia, Great Britain and the United States.

12	The DeWitt Wallace Institute for the History of Psychiatry - Cornell University The DeWitt Wallace Institute for the History of Psychiatry is an interdisciplinary research unit in the Department of Psychiatry of Weill Cornell Medical College and NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital. Its objective is to carry out, encourage, and advise scholarship in a broad range of historical topics that are relevant to the present day theory and practice of psychiatry. Its basic activities include sponsoring the Richardson History of Psychiatry Research Seminar and administering the Oskar Diethelm Library.
13	Max Planck Institute for the History of Science The MPIWG in Berlin is one of eighty research institutes in the natural sciences, social sciences, and humanities administered by the Max Planck Society. It was established in 1994 as an international research center for the history of science in Germany. Researchers at the MPIWG investigate how new categories of thought, proof, and experience have emerged in the centuries-long interaction between the sciences and their ambient cultures. The specific research projects span several millennia: cultures north, south, east, and west: and numerous scientific disciplines, ranging from the origins of counting systems in Mesopotamia to today’s postgenomics, from Renaissance natural history to the early days of quantum mechanics.

XIII-XVI). El nom escollit constitueix, en aquest sentit, tota una declaració d'intencions, en unir patrimoni històric i una de les més útils eines d'informació actuals en un sol concepte.

20	Tlahui Educa Tlahui Educa es un centro de estudio de las medicinas tradicionales y alternativas. Desarrollan actividad docente y de investigación impartiendo cursos, talleres y diplomados presenciales, a través de la Revista Electrónica Tlahui, diplomados teóricos en línea, complementados con cursos práctico y presenciales intensivos. Estudiantes y profesores han realizado un amplio trabajo de investigación, y difusión de las medicinas tradicionales y alternativas, lengua y cultura indígena.
