From 11th to 15th August 2014 the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP) hosted the São Paulo School of Advanced Science (SPSAS) on "Biotechnology, Biosocialities and Governance of Life Sciences". The event, from which Eä Journal participated, gathered over 100 participants (PhD students and postdocs) from

Brazil and over 20 countries, as well as over 20 highly recognized researchers from main research institutions to discuss about social, political, economic, legal and ethical issues regarding the developments on life and medical science of the last decades.

Presentation of the Handbook of Agentinean Medical History, by Abel Agüero and Edmundo Cabrera Fischer

Aguero FisherThe Argentinean Society for the History of Medicine (SAHIME) and the Argentinean Humanism Medical Society (SAHM) of the Argentinean Medical Association invite the presentation of the Handbook of Agentinean Medical History, by Abel Luis Agüero and Edmundo Cabrera Fischer. The event will take place on July 17, 2014 at 6.45 pm at the headquarters of the AMA, Av. Santa Fe 1171. CABA.

Welcoming Remarks: Prof. Dr. E. Hurtado Hoyo. AMA President.
Lecturers: Dr. C. Lértora Mendoza, Prof. Dr. A. Ferrere, President Soc. Arg. Medical Humanism, and Prof. Dr. J. Mainetti.

Eä Journal at the webinar: "Journals of History of Science in Latin America in the 21st century: validity and perspectives"

presentacionquipu"Journals of History of Science in Latin America in the 21st century: validity and perspectives" is the theme of the Webinar that will be held on April 9, 2014 (13 hours of Mexico City, -6 GMT, 4:00 p.m. Buenos Aires) on the occasion of the XXX Anniversary of the foundation of Quipu - Latin American Journal of History of Science and Technology.

Humberto Ruiz Calderón, Gabriela Bortz and Juan José Saldaña, directors of three Latin American electronic journals in the area (Venezuela: Bitacora-e, Argentina: Eä Journal, and Mexico: Quipu), and Luis Carlos Arboleda and Teresa Rojas Rabiela, from Colombia and Mexico, will discuss the topic of the Webinar. The event is open to all public with prior registration.
